I've always loved the way leopard print nail designs look on top of a glitter top coat and I finally gave it a try. I got out my fun Lacquer Winter Wonderland and thoroughly coated my nails over Sally Hansen's Celeb City to provide a glitter base for the black acrylic paint leopard design using a simple dotting tool. For the accent nails I switched out the colours and used Zoya Lola & Winter Wonderland for the spots and on the ring finger and Sally Hansen Black Out with the silver acrylic paint for the details there. I received these beautiful roses from Born Pretty Store and wanted to share a review and a few manicures with you.
I was contacted by a lovely lady named Cynthia from the Born Pretty Store about reviewing some products. As I have bought some nail art items from them before, and had a good experience, I thought I'd take the chance to try some more of their wares to review/use on my blog and YouTube channel. All the opinions given are without pressure from the company and are my own.
I totally recommend the Born Pretty Store embellishments and suggest you check them out here! And to save on pretty things for your fingers, I have a code for 10% off at Born Pretty, so just click on this affiliate link http://bit.ly/ihBHUJ and type in "MIHW10" at checkout on any order!
Nail tutorials where I have used these roses are Golden Leopard Nail Tutorial & a future nail tutorial with pin stripes which I will update here when it comes out.

Enjoy! Video Review
I received 5 red roses and 5 black roses. The listing for these babies is "5pcs 3D Nail Art Sticker Sweet Color Rose Flower Nail Decoration" and they come under numbers of which the black are #10 & the red ones are #12. At the time I got these the price was $1.58 but at the moment they are on sale for USD$0.99 and I am totally going to pick up some more of them.
Born Pretty Store has free international shipping or you can choose to have your items faster and pay a small amount for shipping depending on where you are in the world. I don't mind waiting and opt for free shipping on the items form Born Pretty cause they are so cheap and I wouldn't want to ruin the economy of the order by adding more shipping than the product cost.
The roses stick off the nail with a raised profile of roughly 0.5cm and gave a diameter of 1cm, however aren't too large on small nail beds or short nails to get in the way of the design it overshadow the nail itself.
Pros
-Spectacular addition to a special manicure.
-Amazing for vintage or pin-up style nails.
-Gorgeous metallic finish. I love the red tone and the black ones are fantastic too.
-Come in different colours to suit your taste and style.
-Shiny finish brings light and dimension to the rose structure so you can see the petals nicely.
-Can look elegant or flashy depending on how you style the rest of your manicure.
-They can bring a subtle sprinkle of zest by adding a single rose to a manicure or go all out and decorate ever nail with these fabulous pieces.
-Stay adhered well with nail glue.
-They have a decent sized surface on the bottom of the flower that makes it easy to place them on your nail and keep then there with your glue of choice.
-The fine delicate metal looks dainty and not chunky. It's very light weight and my fingers weren't hindered by the sweet flowers.
Cons
-Great for special occasions but not every day wear. -Sit up off the nail and can get caught on hair or loose threads on clothes.
-Need special care as all 3D Nail art does. If you are doing gardening than this is really not the style for you and if you work a lot with your hands these won't last very long but for a special occasion they are awesome.
-They have sharp edges so can scratch you if you run them along your skin.
Conclusion
I honestly love these roses and will use them again and buy some more for myself. They come in a variety of colours as seen below and I am endeared by many of them.
The roses are delicate so can be squashed or damaged if you're not careful, as in if you sit on your hands or bash them against something. However, as they are malleable you can bend them back into shape if they aren't broken. I never managed to break one, even though I did actually accidentally sat on my hand 😜 The rose did come off but I was able to nudge it back into shape and it looked good as new.
I didn't wear them to bed as I didn't want to wake up with one embedded in my butt or something like that and I suggest you do the same cause as I mentioned they are relatively sharp. I removed them with an orange-wood stick before going off to bed but just using gentle leverage.
I managed to use each set of roses twice and maybe they can get up to three uses if you take care of them, however it could be less as they can be damaged during wear. They are definitely perfect for a special occasion when you need that extra something to put your nails over the top.
I have created a couple of different manicures around these roses. See the blog post where I create the nails above called Golden Leopard Nail Tutorial
For the other red and black nails I added some elliptical rhinestones also from Born Pretty Store which doubled as petals for this look and are a lovely way to add glitz while changing it up from the standard shape. The hex glitter on the thumb accent nail was placed by hand (I may do a tutorial on this method some time) and it makes for a polka dot effect that is in playful contrast to the stripes. Click here for the blog post for these nails with more information.

I have a nail tutorial featuring some pretty polishes from F.U.N Lacquer and these awesome black 3D Roses that I received from the Born Pretty Store. In this tutorial I show you different ways to use glitter top coats to create a leopard design and how to place hex glitter with dotting tool to make a glittery polka dot effect.
To keep with the leopard or cheetah theme I used golden polishes from F.U.N Lacquer such as Belle for a base colour and Gold Mark for the spots with gold and black acrylic paint for the leopard details and I added some gold studs from Born Pretty for even more golden gleam.
I have a review on these Born Pretty Roses here coming soon.

I recently purchased a few items from Romwe and Dolls Kill for a trip to the US which includes a stop over in Vegas and I thought I'd share an outfit I put together. I've also slipped in a little review of the items and links to where you can get them below.

Review UNIF Idol Dress in Leopard
I was knocked out by the Leopard dress I saw at Dolls Kill by UNIF and had to have it. It certainly was up my alley with the curve hugging shape and sassy print. I love the long sleeves on this mini dress, and one of my favourite designs for a dress, is a high neck with a collar and a keyhole cut-out. It says I'm sexy but also classy and reminds me of the line in Total Recall where Quaid says he wants a fantasy woman who's "sexy and demure". (hee hee)
The dress fits well and has plenty of stretch in the material, which is 93% Polyester and 7% Spandex, so it gives some leeway with the sizing. I went for a Small, hoping the material would be forgiving for my more curvier assets and the dress is tight but easy to wear and non-restrictive. And the best part is, it's actually really warm and so comfortable because there's a fuzzy, kinda fleecy lining. The lining isn't thick to make you look chunky and doesn't take away from the form fitting cut; a little secret that makes a hot dress also practical. Another convenient addition is the zip at the back to make putting on this tight little number a lot easier. And the zip is concealed so it doesn't interrupt the flow of the smooth back and makes it look like the dress just spawned around your body perfectly.
I've really gotta say that I love the leopard print on this dress. I have always liked leopard print in general but haven't got a lot of it in my wardrobe (until recently), because it always left something to be desired. It's either too bland in the colour department or boring and cartoonish print-wise. However, this print is beautiful in it's details and has an interesting flow and change in the pattern at the back. I'm totally in love with it and it reminds me of an actual big cat as you arch your back and move in this dress.
Dolls Kill has a $20 flat rate for International Orders and a $8.95 Flat rate for US orders. Express shipping costs extra.
Mental Pyramid Rivets Leggings As the aforementioned dress was too short for me I styled it with the awesome "Mental Pyramid Rivets Leggings" from Romwe. I had my eye on these leggings for a while because they reminded me of a pair of stockings I have that have been well loved and are a little worse for wear. So I was very happy to pick these up and really love them.
The leggings don't restrict movement and feel pleasant on the legs. Once again the material is stretchy and forms to your body with a great opaque black colour. I hate when leggings don't remain opaque when they're stretched over your thighs and thus don't give the same warmth or modesty that you may have been going for when you put them on. These are great though and fit well. They are one size fits all and totally would work for a size small or medium. I take a medium in Romwe leggings to make sure so they don't get too crotchy, if you know what I mean, and don't cut off the circulation to my legs, these are perfect fitting and I have no complaints.
The star of the piece are the awesome square metal studs in 4 rows along the sides/back of the leggings. They start at different heights up your legs and don't stick out too far because of their pyramid shape. They are sewn on with thread from two points on the top and bottom and not stuck on with glue like on the stockings I previously had. They move around but haven't come off yet and the cotton thread is layered 4 times over and goes through every stud, so they seem pretty secure. The shiny slate coloured rivets style well with other bright silver spikes and studs, like the Jeffrey Campbell Litas and make these leggings a fantastic piece for the more edgy and heavy metal outfits in my wardrobe.
Romwe has free shipping worldwide or an option to pay more for faster shipping.

This look is an entry for Youtube Kristianathe's 15k subscriber contest for a Dramatic/Editorial makeup inspired by fashion. I have created a video which you can check out here.
I based this makeup on a leopard, but not just any leopard.
These cute bastards come in many different colours and I chose to get inspiration from a Snow leopard and also my Karen Millan hand bag and shoes, but changed up the colours because I was in a purple mood. I have so many gorgeous purples from Inglot and Sugarpill because purple was my first love in the world of eyeshadow. I went all out with some purple rhinestones and MAC 3D glitter and played with my Lime Crime Orchidaceous uniliner.
You have to check out Kristianathe blog here. This look is for my Animal series that I started last year with a tiger look, check it here. Feel free to click on the images to see higher quality versions.
Enjoy!

I love obnoxiously pink bright nails and my leopard print addiction continues with inspiration from Robin Moses Nail Art via her Bright Pink Leopard nails seen here on Youtube. I'm still on a stud craze thanks to Modnails too, but I can't help it, I love 'em so much. I used an eyeliner brush that I trimmed (knowledge also gained from robinmosesnailart) and painted the leopard print design that way instead of my previous bobby pin and tooth pick method. The best thing is that my OCC Anime and Different Dimension A Love Hue polishes arrived just in time for me to use them for this design and damn do I love them! You can get Different Dimension custom blend polishes from Missi Barry's Etsy store here.
