GRWM Yngwie Malmsteen Gig Makeup ft Sugarpill & Urban Decay

Here is a video on me getting ready for the Yngwie J. Malmsteen gig and meet and greet. And for those of you who don't know who that is, he is a solo guitarist with a classical influence giving rise to hard rock songs, ballads and anything in between.

Enjoy!

Tutorial: Horny Loki Inspired Makeup

I’m here to share this deviously delightful makeup that absolutely makes me feel mischievous and wicked! It’s inspired by the mischievous god Loki from the movie Thor 2. He is my favourite Norse god and also favourite character in the Avengers series.

I used the colours that are in Loki's costume including some dark greens from the Sedona Lace 88 matte palette, along with Sugarpill Midori & Lumi on the lid for dimension, as well as Urban Decay Darkhorse and Inglot 101R through the crease for the brown leather details he sports.

And of course I included the magnificent gold of his horned helmet mirrored in the giant curved eyeliner where I used the best liquid gold liner in ElDorado from Urban Decay. And I couldn't do this look without very dramatic and commanding lips using OCC Tryptic Lip tar and Sugarpill Goldilux pigment for the most fabulous metallic gold ever!

Check out the tutorial for the makeup below or on YouTube and also stay tuned for my lip art tutorial for the flashy fun lips coming soon.

Feel free to visit my YouTube Channel here and maybe subscribe if I can talk you into it with my devilishly persuasive tongue.

For a detailed list of the makeup used in this look scroll to the bottom of this post.

If you love the golden pigment, check out Sugarpill here, along with many other gorgeous shadows!

Enjoy!

Video Tutorial

Wait 'til the end for some very silly outtakes and what really goes on in between me trying to be serious and apply makeup.

Vampy fall look

I desperately wanted to dip a brush into my new Inglot eyeshadows, so I created this vampy fall look on the fly. Plenty of jewel toned dark cranberry, purples and even a bit of soft brown to satisfy any Fall fashion aficionado looking for a look that demands attention.

Enjoy!

Purple Amber Lights

I absolutely love M.A.C Amber Lights and think it's one of the best eye shadow colours for neutral looks. It is great for any eye colour, but especially brown and green eyes. Such a gorgeous frosted colour and I love to use it frequently.

So, I decided to make my eyes pop by using Amber lights and purple together and create an easygoing daytime look. It's wearable with a pop of colour and a nice amount of shine.

Enjoy!

Prometheus

I always like to dress up when I go the movies with some sort of theme related to the film we're seeing. Since Prometheus is in the Alien franchise and the Alien character is usually associated with blackish green, blue or gray, I used those kind of colours to create this look. I used a sample I got from Evil Shades eyeshadow in Glooming and found it to be excellent. I love the way the blue glitter shines against the matte black and it worked really well with Fyrianne Pixy Epoxy. Delicious! The Deviant Lipstick from Evil Shades also kicked ass in the colour and shine department, check out the lip swatch and review.

I love the art work of H. R. Giger, who conceived the concept art for the Alien from his nightmares, and he has done some awesome, spooky and unnerving works. Check out his site here.

Enjoy!

Here is a lip swatch for Evil Shades Deviant Lipstick in Obscurity and mini Review.

I loved the colour and sheen this lipstick had and found the intensity to be buildable. I only had a sample, so I solely used a lip brush to apply the product and think that application and intensity could be improved if applied directly from the stick with the full product. The lipstick is a wax based product, so warms to the lip's touch and I think that makes the difference with the full size compared to the sample. The taste was inoffensive, if not pleasant and it wore comfortably. It didn't dry my lips too much but did feel like I was wearing product, that is to say that it isn't a weightless unnoticeable lipstick, however isn't thick and cumbersome. It didn't survive me eating popcorn in the movie theatre, which no one should expect.

I liked it and would consider buying the full size for the colour alone.

Buy it at Evil Shades here.

Ocean Blue

It is the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Valencia for the European round in this season. The track is surrounded by beautiful beaches and ocean with is a deep greenish blue and is seen when the cars zoom over the bridge in the street circuit. So I was inspired by the ocean and wanted to use colours I don’t usually use much to create this look. I also wanted to try my hand at making matte eyeshadows a pearly finish and to use shadows I already have in different ways. I used Urban Decay Primer potion in Sin under the Sugarpill pressed matte shadows and it gave a delicious shine.

Enjoy!
