Hovering Holo Leopard Print Nails ft FUN Lacquer & Sally Hansen

I've always loved the way leopard print nail designs look on top of a glitter top coat and I finally gave it a try.

I got out my fun Lacquer Winter Wonderland and thoroughly coated my nails over Sally Hansen's Celeb City to provide a glitter base for the black acrylic paint leopard design using a simple dotting tool.

For the accent nails I switched out the colours and used Zoya Lola & Winter Wonderland for the spots and on the ring finger and Sally Hansen Black Out with the silver acrylic paint for the details there.

Enjoy!

Review

I heard about F.U.N Lacquer on YouTube from the Crafty Ninja and then found the account on Instagram run by the created Yuin Ying, who is a lovely lady and very attentive when it comes to questions via Instagram. The swatches on Instagram is what made me actually purchase these polishes. The Crafty Ninja's photos and the ones on the F.U.N Lacquer IG page definitely helped make my decision when it cames to nail polish purchases. I always like to see swatches, so I can get a better idea of what the polish looks like and their IG page definitely shows a lot of people's good swatches and videos.

I have bought from F.U.N Lacquer 3 times so far and will do so again because the colours are so unique, especially when it comes to the thermal polishes. The Parcels are packages with love and care and I have never received a damaged or spilled bottle. The sweet bows are a nice touch too. The shipping time is quick and some of the packages have even been shipped the same day I ordered them, so that's the great thing about a small personal indie company.

The Christmas glitter polishes are beautiful colours and have plenty of glitter in the clear base, which is great. I hate when a glitter polish is too sparse and can't be worn alone easily. I do have to "fish" for some of the larger glitter pieces a bit, but that is to be expected and it is much easier to get the bigger pieces on your nail than with most other glitter polishes, so that's very satisfying. And these glitter polishes can be worn alone with just a few coats or careful dabbing of the glitter on the nail.

I love Winter Wonderland and Gold Mark especially and I bought quite a few of the princess collection greens and blues for a giveaway and they are lovely colours too.

I will say that I wish the holographic polishes had more holographic effect in them. Aurora is a very pretty colour but I would like it more with a stronger holographic effect. It is great that there are the holographic top coats so that can help in that respect.

I am a HUGE fan of glow in the dark polishes and a collection of colourful glow in the dark polishes would be amazing. The glow diamond top coat is a nice start but I'd love to see F.U.N Lacquer go further with that effect.

I would also love to see more bright coloured glitter polishes like Winter Wonderland and Gold Mark. I would be very excited about a red holographic chunky glitter polish, a pink one and a purple one! Yep, I love bright colours!

I like how there are sets for the polishes. The whole collection is a bit much to commit to but the recent addition of the duo set of diamond polishes was a great idea. Thanks Instagram I grabbed that set when it was going out of stock, and it's been replenished now. I recommend following their Instagram page for updates and swatches so you can see what's coming out and what looks good.

My previous negative criticism I have of F.U.N Lacquer store was the shipping price in the situation of buying just one polish. With several polishes I am fine with the shipping cost and it's very fair, however if I just want to buy one or two polishes I am discouraged by the shipping being a large percentage of the price of the polishes. And I voiced this concern to the Yuin Ying, the owner, when she asked for feedback and after that she reduced the shipping charge and the only thing that discouraged me from ordering a couple of polishes was removed!

I have nothing but great things to say about the customer service through Instagram and email. Any little question I have asked has been answered in a timely fashion and curiously, plus if I had any special requirements to do with packaging items like separate containers, gift wrapping or combining shipping it has been attended to quickly and thoroughly.

There are new formulas being created from the old 3-Free formula to a new 5-Free formula so you get less nasty chemicals and even improvements to thin out the formula have occurred recently. You will be able to find the polishes listed clearly with "old formula" and new formula when the change has been finished.

I find the prices of each polish quite fair and I love that they offer the option of mini polishes and the low prices mean that I can try out more different polishes and I must say that this definitely makes me order more at the F.U.N lacquer online store.

So basically the bright colours, beautiful glitter polishes, interesting effects and fair prices are what makes me love F.U.N lacquer and I'd love to see strong glow in the dark polishes and stronger holographic polishes and I will be purchasing more items in the future.

Winter's First Snow Nail Tutorial ft F.U.N Lacquer

I've got a special manicure to show you that may look simple and it is easy to create but has a intriguing twist that is pretty darn fascinating.

For the main shimmery blue colour I used a thermal polish form F.U.N Lacquer called Icy Snow that changes from light blue to bright medium blue. It's quite gorgeous either way and is fun to play with the changing shades. And you get a neat surprise depending on the room temperature and a varying manicure all throughout the day!

The glitter action comes from Winter Wonderland which is an amazing silver holographic glitter. I like to use it over a silver base coat so you can get a full on glitter party but not have to go too thick with the glitter polish if it doesn't cover every nanometer of your nail.

You can find F.U.N aka Fabulously Unique Nail Lacquer polishes on storenvy here and also there are many swatches and behind the scenes shots on Instagram.

Check out the tutorial video below or on YouTube where you can find more makeup, fashion and nail adventures with Michty Maxx!

Enjoy!

Video Tutorial

This is Icy Snow warm! The violet duo chrome is so lovely and comes through when the polish is under warm conditions mainly around the edges of the nail. It adds an adorable sweetness to the paler colour.

And this is Icy Snow cold and the almost royal blue is quite fetching. I'm not normally a blue person, but I really fancy this shade.

I have some awesome macro pictures and footage of Winter Wonderland showing the large hex pieces and smaller square and tiny hex pieces bits in there. You can apply it in a thin layer and get a demure spattering of glitter, or dab it on to get a solid coverage of glorious sparkle!

I had to share the fabulous linear holographic effect that can only be fully realised in video so here's a quick tutorial showing off the rainbow magnificence that is this polish.

Lip Art Tutorial: Abbey Dawn WTH heel Inspired

I'm here to share with you the tutorial for this lip art that is inspired by my Abbey Dawn WTH heels. I love the spikes and the hot pink colour, so I decided to honour them with some lip art that is as crazy as the pumps themselves.

I used some of my favourite pink products, such as Coloured Raine Intimidate lipstick that I topped with Sugarpill Birthday Girl Chromalust and Eye Kandy Cotton Candy Sprinkles for some extra twinkle.

And the pièce de rèsistance is the 6mm spikes from Born Pretty Store and you can get more nail art and makeup supplies here! And for a special present from me and Born Pretty, use the code "MIHW10" at checkout for 10% off your whole order at Born Pretty!

And if you love sparkly pigments, check out Sugarpill here, along with many other matte shadows & false eyelashes!

Night Lights posted on Polishpedia!

I have another manicure to share with you that I created and was published on Polishpedia!

I wanted something simple and fun this weekend with glitter and sparkle, so I grabbed a royal purple polish, Buffy the Violet Slayer from Wet n' Wild, and layered it under a fabulous silver holographic hex glitter from China Glaze called Techno. Man, I've used a lot of this stuff and it's gorgeous, but takes a bit of patience to dab on the glitter instead of whip it on like a normal polish. However, it's totally worth it for the galaxyeque feel to this manicure and the silver next to the purple really makes it stand out.

Click the picture below for the full post on Polishpedia with more photos, product details and macro shots!

Click here for my other posts on Polishpedia.

I will say that Buffy the Violet Slayer drys really dark and turns into more of a blue than a purple after top coat. It could be the Seche Vite or it could be just the formula of this particular Wet n' Wild polish. I was disappointed cause the colour in the bottle and when it first goes on the nail is really pretty. It's really hard to find a purple nail polish that doesn't have too much red in it and is more cool toned but without going totally blue. But I have the same problem with eyeshdaows and lipsticks too. I guess I'm just very particular about my purple shades and am will always be on the never ending search for the perfect purple shades.

Neon Night Lip Art for Crown Brush blog

An amazing makeup artist Karla Powell, whom I respect and admire greatly, featured my Golden Royalty Lip Art on Instagram recently. I was absolutely flattered and honoured to be featured on her IG page and another perk was that her attention caught the eye of CrownBrushUK. Karla asked me on behalf of Crown to create a lip art tutorial for their blog and I gladly said yes.

So I set about designing a dramatic nighttime neon lip creation and even asked my boyfriend to help me choose some bright colours and I even used some glitter for extra impact.

Click the picture below or here if you want to see the step by step pictorial on the Crown Brush UK blog.

Thanks again Crown Brush UK for letting me have fun with the Crownbrush takeover blog post.

The liquid lipsticks I used from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics can be purchased here or at Sephora in US.

And the glitter can be bought at the Eye Kandy website here.

I have many more lip art designs for your viewing pleasure if you care to click here.

Holographic Twinkle

I can't get enough of this Gosh Holographic nail polish and decided to whip it out again with a magenta accent nail and holographic glitter. I must say that Modnails and Cutepolish of Instagram and youtube have given me leopard fever and so here's another leopard print manicure.

Also, I find that adding a top coat to Gosh Holographic 549 nail polish really decreases the linear holographic effect, so I only used top coat on the accent nail.

Enjoy!
