Makeup Tutorial: Fresh Violet Eyes

I created this simple violet eye look to go with the Space-age holographic Lip Art which you can see here. It's a great look for winter and a fresh trending look to cleanse yourself for the new year.

I used Vellum, a duo chrome white and violet shade which is one of my favourite MAC shadows, and Sugarpill's Diamond Eyes from their Cold Chemistry Palette with a bit of Inglot 101R in the crease.

I kept the cheeks a natural "just came out of the snow" flush with Benefit Hervana and throb blushes mixed together and a touch of MAC Mineralised blush in Gentle on the apples.

This look really shows off your eye lashes and is all about a nice coat of mascara and well combed through lashes. I have a lash growth experiment coming up that tells you how mine got so long and luscious.

Neon Pink Alien Snow Bunny

I went to the awesome Steve Vai gig the other week and thought that I should dress up for the occasion. Steve Vai's solo guitar and instrumental music is whacky, outrageous, seductive and sensual and his album covers have many different styles some of which are alienesque. So I thought I'd bring out my Neon Pink Cyberdog space dress and then build a quick makeup look from there. 

I was in a rush and didn't have much time, so I went straight for my Sugarpill SweetHeart palette and smoked out my eyes with Dollipop over a base of MAC's Paint stick in Processed Magenta. I used Sugarpill Tako to blend out the lid and for a brow highlight I added a shiny white Inglot eyeshadow in AMC shine #35. I took the fabulous Dollipop all around the eye and used Inglot matte gel for a white waterline to make my eyes huge and damn does that eyeliner last all night! The lips had to be Coloured Raine Intimidate cause it matched everything else so well.

I even whipped out my hot pink Converse Hi tops and added some fluffy earmuffs as well as some white leggings (cause damn that dress is short) and my Karen Millen turtle neck (cause it was really cold) to my all white and pink whacky outfit. 

I was going for a weird alien look and with all the warm layers and earmuffs, I decided to add Snow Bunny to the title as if this alien species was used to a much warmer climate but just came in for the impressive stylings of Steve Vai and friends.

Deep Purple gig Makeup & OOTD

The Deep Purple gig was last Friday and I couldn't turn up without some aptly deep purple makeup and most sassy outfit. 

I went purple all over and used my favourite purple eyeshadows including Maybelline Color tattoo Painted Purple as a base, MAC Violet pigment and Vellum, Inglot #439 #441, Lime crime Empress and deepened it all up with Sugarpill Stella. To add glam, I couldn't go past a light sprinkling of Eye Kandy Sour Grape and Jelly bean.

Cavalera Hysteria

I am a huge fan of purple and I love the way it makes brown eyes pop. One of my favourite purple shadows is Lancôme Color focus in 08 and I wanted to use it to compliment my Sugarpill Chromalust in Hysteric, as well as give a sample from Fyrinnae called Cavalera Cupcakes a go over the pixy epoxy. I threw down with some foiling without foiling and checked out the pixy epoxy's style with these loose shadows. So here's a purple and silvery look.

Glam rock for Rock of Ages

I went to the movies on Thursday to see Rock of Ages and thought I would do a glam rock, dark sparkly look in the tiny amount of time I had before we had to leave. I went with lots of black smoked out and added sprinkles by Eye Kandy all over my lid for awesome glam glitz. The photos don't do justice to the sparkly marshmellow sprinkles, which flashed mostly green with touches of blue, yellow and orange over the black base.

I did get a little girl pointing to her eye while her mother announced ‘glitter!’ softly, and when you get noticed by small children you know you are doing the right thing with your face, haha.
