Neon Pink Alien Snow Bunny

I went to the awesome Steve Vai gig the other week and thought that I should dress up for the occasion. Steve Vai's solo guitar and instrumental music is whacky, outrageous, seductive and sensual and his album covers have many different styles some of which are alienesque. So I thought I'd bring out my Neon Pink Cyberdog space dress and then build a quick makeup look from there.

I was in a rush and didn't have much time, so I went straight for my Sugarpill SweetHeart palette and smoked out my eyes with Dollipop over a base of MAC's Paint stick in Processed Magenta. I used Sugarpill Tako to blend out the lid and for a brow highlight I added a shiny white Inglot eyeshadow in AMC shine #35. I took the fabulous Dollipop all around the eye and used Inglot matte gel for a white waterline to make my eyes huge and damn does that eyeliner last all night! The lips had to be Coloured Raine Intimidate cause it matched everything else so well.

I even whipped out my hot pink Converse Hi tops and added some fluffy earmuffs as well as some white leggings (cause damn that dress is short) and my Karen Millen turtle neck (cause it was really cold) to my all white and pink whacky outfit.

I was going for a weird alien look and with all the warm layers and earmuffs, I decided to add Snow Bunny to the title as if this alien species was used to a much warmer climate but just came in for the impressive stylings of Steve Vai and friends.

If you liked the magnificent pink eyeshadow I used for this pink smoky eye you can check out Sugarpill here, along with many other phenomenal bright and colourful eye shadows!

Enjoy!

Cute Polka dot Pin-up Nails!

I created these cute as hell polka dot nails based around the gorgeous bows I received from Born Pretty Store. I have an in-depth review and more pictures of the bows here.

I decided to go for a polka dot look and wanted a pin-up feel, but after I'd finished it reminded me of Minnie Mouse. Either way these bows are killing me with cuteness and are drawing my attention all the time.

  5. Apply a fast drying top coat to all nails.
  6. Apply a small dot of glue on the back of the bows, wait a minute and place them on the nail near the cuticle.

Review: Red Nail Art Bows from Born Pretty Store

I was contacted by a lovely lady named Cynthia from the Born Pretty Store about reviewing some products. As I have bought some nail art items from them before, and had a good experience, I thought I'd take the chance to try some more of their wares.

Here's a review of these sweet n' cute bows from Born Pretty Store and if you want to use these gorgeous nail art decoration for a maniucre, click here and use the coupon code MIHW10 at checkout for 10% discount off your whole order.

Born Pretty Store has free international shipping.

I have a manicure using these 3D red bows, so if you're interested click here to see it or use the link at the bottom of the review.

Click on the pictures below for more accurate colour.

Enjoy!

The listing for this item on the Born Pretty Store site is 10 Pcs Red Bowknot Shape 3D Stickers Acrylic UV Nail Art and the item number is #4161. You get 10 red bows for 99c and they are reusable. They are versatile and you just have to use your imagination for the different styles or many uses. They can be used for nail art, decorating your phone or anything you want to stick fun red bows to!

These acrylic bows with pink hearts in the centre and white spots have a lovely bright red colour and can be attached with nail glue to artificial or natural nails. They stayed attached well for 4 days with drug store nail glue and add adorable embellishment to your manicure.

The bows don't just work on long nails, they look great on short nails too. They are not so big that they won't fit on most nail sizes, but are large enough to make a statement. This is good cause you don't need to have a really long nail bed or length of nail to use these enchanting pieces. The cuteness factor is off the charts and honestly I can't stop staring at them!

The bows are strong acrylic, however you can break them if you hit them hard on a solid surface like tiles or marble. If you do break one, then you can easily use nail glue to stick the pieces back together. Mine ended up breaking in the middle when I hit my nail on the sink, but as I said, it was easily repaired.

The pieces are rounded on the top and flat at the back so, unless you embed them in acrylic while applying false nails, they don't sit flat across the nail. They do have enough surface to stay well adhered and won't come off if you use nail glue unless you are really rough. They can get caught on loose hair if you scratch your head and such, but I was mindful while wearing them and didn't have a problem.

As I said they are reusable, so when you are finished wearing your manicure you can just snap the bows off and then use a cue tip/cotton bud to clean off the residual nail polish and glue on the back. The polka dot details on the top with come off with nail polish remover, so be careful when cleaning the back of them after use. That's why I didn't soak the bows off with acetone or nail polish remover. But as they are so cheap you could do that and throw them out if you were worried about damaging your nails. Half the time I pick off my nail polish (I know that's a terrible habit), so it wasn't a big deal for me to pop off the bows.

These cuties are fantastic for kids who want to play at nails as well and they're so cheap that it don't matter if they loose them.

The whole site has free international shipping but it takes a bit of a long time. I don't find that a serisouly negative point because I certainly wouldn't want to pay for shipping on a 99c purchase. Most of the items from the Born Pretty Store website are less than $10 and a lot of the products are $1-$2, so free shipping is definitely appreciated.

I created this cute as hell polka dot nails based around the gorgeous bows. If you want to check out the full nail post, click here.

Conclusion

They are really cheap and add less than a dollar to your manicure while adding an absolutely darling touch. I would say that you need to be careful while wearing them as you would any 3D nail art to not smash them into anything and delicately extract them if you get your hair caught around one. That's the price you pay for elaborate and gorgeous nail art, I guess. I was really happy with this product and am going to purchase some more if I lose one or break one beyond repair, or even if I can't be bothered cleaning them. (Naughty Michty!)

I really enjoyed wearing these and loved the look of the adorable bows on my nails. They are a great size for my relatively small nails and couldn't be a more vibrant fantastic colour. The shipping takes a bit, but it didn't bother me. I can wait for nail art supplies if it's free and honestly most companies take forever to ship to Australia.

I cannot stress how cute these are and if you like to glue things on your tips then I thoroughly recommend them!

Neon Night Lip Art for Crown Brush blog

An amazing makeup artist Karla Powell, whom I respect and admire greatly, featured my Golden Royalty Lip Art on Instagram recently. I was absolutely flattered and honoured to be featured on her IG page and another perk was that her attention caught the eye of CrownBrushUK. Karla asked me on behalf of Crown to create a lip art tutorial for their blog and I gladly said yes.

So I set about designing a dramatic nighttime neon lip creation and even asked my boyfriend to help me choose some bright colours and I even used some glitter for extra impact.

Click the picture below or here if you want to see the step by step pictorial on the Crown Brush UK blog.

Thanks again Crown Brush UK for letting me have fun with the Crownbrush takeover blog post.

The liquid lipsticks I used from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics can be purchased here or at Sephora in US.

And the glitter can be bought at the Eye Kandy website here.

I have many more lip art designs for your viewing pleasure if you care to click here.

Monsters U Sully Inspired Makeup

I recently watched Monsters Inc. in preparation for the new Monsters University movie and decided to wear this look to represent my Sully appreciation at the cinema!

Amazingly enough the Sugarpill shadow Mochi is an exact match for Sully's fur and I mixed together a few shades for the gorgeous purple spots he sports including Poison Plum, Urban Decay Fishnet, Inglot #441 and the purple from the Sleek Acid pallet for a neon tinge. I went for a natural brow highlight for once and used the lightest shade from the Inglot #101 Rainbow shadows and white gel liner on the waterline for a wide eyed look.

For the lips, I whipped out the ever fascinating and dreamy Coloured Raine Uncensored VVS LipSynch, which I won in an Instagram competition and I'm so glad I did! This lipstick is the perfect gothy light purple with a delightful tinge of grey to the lavender shade and if worn right can give you a stunning Corpse Bride look and I love that! However for this light and playful look, I used VVS LipSynch to let the lip colour melt in and match with the rest of the makeup but not overpower it. You can purchase the lipsticks from Coloured Raine here.

And finally, I finished off the look with my first foray into false lashes. I used Red Cherry Demi Whispies and love the way they complement the shape of the eyeshadow, add some natural length and pretty flutter to my eyelashes.

If the fabulous Sully coloured eyeshadows I used in this look interest you as much as they do me, check out Sugarpill.com for yourself.

Enjoy!

4th of July Makeup

My 4th of July makeup complete with twinkling silver stars from The Born Pretty Store

I went for a red, white and blue makeup to go to an ironic party that me and my close friends have, I say ironic because we aren't American or in America. For dinner we had tacos and the table decorations were red and blue napkins on a white table cloth and we drunk delicious Mojitos because they were Castro's favoutie drink to add more irony.

For the makeup, I pulled out the juicy Royal Sugar pigment from Sugarpill as a blisteringly bright blue eyeliner that made my camera go crazy! The lid is Sugarpill Tiara and Eye Kandy sprinkles in Confetti and I applied Tako to the brow bone and Velocity for the crease and lower lid. To complete the colour theme I chose Lime Crime Retrofuturist lipstick

I felt the look wasn't complete or festive enough, so I retrieved my Duo lash glue and proceeded to stick these fun aluminium stars I bought in an assorted set from Born Pretty Store to my cheek bone and also added some smaller sequin stars I got from dollarnailart.com around them.

I ended up with a very star spangled makeup that could work for a colourful pin-up look or nautical style, even with the stars!

If you love the look of these stars for manicures or makeup, check out Born Pretty Store and don't forget to use the coupon code MIHW10 at checkout for 10% off anything you order.

And if you'd love the amazing pigments and eyeshadows I used in this patriotic look, check out Sugarpill.com for yourself.

Enjoy!
