The Great Gatsby Makeup & OOTD

I went to the Great Gatsby the other night and dressed to the 9s for the occasion with a 20s inspired makeup. I decided to add some colour to the black and white look with some gold on the lid and in the waterline.

So I created a traditional 20s style shape with Sugarpill Bulletproof blended with Inglot #451 pearl and added some dimension with an Inglot golden shadow in #430. The face was kept pale, just the way I like it and I highlighted with Sugarpill Tako to keep the skin matte and gave the apples of my cheeks a little matte pinkish flush with Bourjois little pot blush in Cendre de Rose Brune. The lips are a Clara Bow-esque shape of the era and I used Channel Rouge Allure Velvet in 38 La Fascinate for a matte red pout.

For the best black eyeshadow and purest matte white ever, grab Sugarpill Bulletproof and Tako from Sugarpill.com.

Enjoy!

Outfit

White tulip ruffled dress
White thigh-high lace-top stockings

For the themed outfit, I went for classy all white with a touch of black because this dress was the closest to 20s fashion in my closet. I did get a new, very necessary accessory; I bought the feather boa from the $2 shop (dollar store in US) to add to the outfit and I added the white flower to my hair. Don't ask me what I did with my hair because I just coaxed it up somehow and shoved it in a really loose side bun with a hair tie and a couple of pins. And this fancy occasion was a great excuse to wear my Steve Madden Partyy-R satin pumps with crystals on the heels to match the glitz on my nails which may be posted on Polishpedia soon.
