Edgy NYE Makeup (Desolation of Smaug insp.)

Here's an edgy festive look that would be good for an alternative New Years Eve Makeup and is inspired by the new Hobbit Movie, the Desolation of Smaug.

The gold he covets is represented by Sugarpill Goldilux with Eye Kandy Bananarama glitter on top and his evil darkness as well as anything he burns to cinders is the blackest black in Bulletproof by Sugarpill with Inglot's matte gel eyeliner #77 as a base underneath.

I thought that no lip look would satisfy me except a matching gold and black. Thus I went for Portland Black Lipstick Company Black and used OCC Tryptic with Goldilux on top and even some Eye Kandy Bananarama glitter dusted in the centre for a black and gold gradient lip.

So basically, the glitter and smokiness is great for the party festivities of New Years Eve and you can do a toned down lip or only use black lipstick to cater to your own tastes, even do a soft crease or leave it as a dramatic cut crease look.

If you are fascinated by the magnificently metallic golden pigment and deep dark matte black, check out Sugarpill here, along with many other gorgeous pigments and shadows!

Enjoy!

Tutorial: Horny Loki Inspired Makeup

I’m here to share this deviously delightful makeup that absolutely makes me feel mischievous and wicked! It’s inspired by the mischievous god Loki from the movie Thor 2. He is my favourite Norse god and also favourite character in the Avengers series.

I used the colours that are in Loki's costume including some dark greens from the Sedona Lace 88 matte palette, along with Sugarpill Midori & Lumi on the lid for dimension, as well as Urban Decay Darkhorse and Inglot 101R through the crease for the brown leather details he sports.

And of course I included the magnificent gold of his horned helmet mirrored in the giant curved eyeliner where I used the best liquid gold liner in ElDorado from Urban Decay. And I couldn't do this look without very dramatic and commanding lips using OCC Tryptic Lip tar and Sugarpill Goldilux pigment for the most fabulous metallic gold ever!

Check out the tutorial for the makeup below or on YouTube and also stay tuned for my lip art tutorial for the flashy fun lips coming soon.

Feel free to visit my YouTube Channel here and maybe subscribe if I can talk you into it with my devilishly persuasive tongue.

A Night with Yngwie Malmsteen with OOTD

I went to an intimate night with Yngwie Malmsteen in the form of a "clinic" with Q&A and show & tell that was really awesome. It was like a personal concert for a few hundred people and he spoke about his playing and did that talented thing he does!

I decided to dress in an ostentatious fashion to match the music, with my red velvet tails from Antons Melbourne and Anomalous hem red skirt from Romwe that fit perfectly with the lines of the jacket and I matched the outfit with Love+ and Asylum red eye shadows from Sugarpill.

If you don't know, Yngwie Malmsteen is a solo guitarist with a classical music style played with a rock flavour, with inspiration from Bach and a flair for amazing flashy fast melodic playing. If you are curious you can read his bio here. Other clinics with guitarists brought out by Thump music can be found here. And there's some pictures below if you want to see the simple little setup.

If you love shimmery red pigments and matte shadows, check out Sugarpill here, along with many other gorgeous colours!

Holo Rainbow Chip Nails!

I wanted a quick manicure and looked to my amazing GOSH Holographic nail polish for an awesome result that's quick and easy to get and I paired it with the delicious Rainbow Chip glitter top coat from Painted Polish.

I had to share the fabulous linear holographic effect that can only be fully realised in video so here's a quick tutorial showing off the rainbow magnificence that is this polish.

Also, I do speed tutorials on my Instagram page, so you can get a preview, extra makeup looks & every day shenanigans or find out when my videos or blog posts come out. I'm Michty Maxx on Instagram or you can click here and follow me there.

And if you like what you see, feel free to visit my YouTube Channel, tickle the like/subscribe button, and leave a comment. It would make me smii-iile! ;-D

Catching Fire FOTD & OOTD

I went to see Catching Fire the other day and whipped up a quick flame based look with some orange, yellow and gold eyeshadows from Sugarpill and Inglot, including the appropriately named Flamepoint!

I already have planned an inspired look for the movie with more amped-up red flame based characteristics, however this was a simple orange smoky eye to go with my Burning Fire Leggings from Romwe and my flame track shoes that were so cool, I had to get them, even though they are actually from the little boy's section.

If you love bright mattes, check out Sugarpill here, along with many other gorgeous shadows and pigments!

Enjoy!

May the odds be ever in your favour!

Lip Art Tutorial: Abbey Dawn WTH heel Inspired

I'm here to share with you the tutorial for this lip art that is inspired by my Abbey Dawn WTH heels. I love the spikes and the hot pink colour, so I decided to honour them with some lip art that is as crazy as the pumps themselves.

I used some of my favourite pink products, such as Coloured Raine Intimidate lipstick that I topped with Sugarpill Birthday Girl Chromalust and Eye Kandy Cotton Candy Sprinkles for some extra twinkle.

And the pièce de rèsistance is the 6mm spikes from Born Pretty Store and you can get more nail art and makeup supplies here! And for a special present from me and Born Pretty, use the code "MIHW10" at checkout for 10% off your whole order at Born Pretty!

And if you love sparkly pigments, check out Sugarpill here, along with many other matte shadows & false eyelashes!

Enjoy the video tutorial on my YouTube Channel here or below!

Video Tutorial

Tutorial
  1. Apply Lip balm to prep your lips beforehand to provide a soft and supple canvas.
  2. Apply M.A.C Prep & Prime Lip primer to smooth out your lips.
  3. Line and fill in your lips with a hot pink lip pencil.
  4. Apply a matching hot pink lipstick over your lips.
  5. Pat a light pink sparkly pigment over lips with a clean finger.
  6. Pat a pink duo chromatic glitter over the centre area of your lips.
  7. Apply Duo Lash glue with the butt end of a tooth pick in evenly spaced dots over your lips.
  8. Wait a little while until the glue is tacky so the spikes can stick.
