A Night with Yngwie Malmsteen with OOTD

I went to an intimate night with Yngwie Malmsteen in the form of a "clinic" with Q&A and show & tell that was really awesome. It was like a personal concert for a few hundred people and he spoke about his playing and did that talented thing he does!

I decided to dress in an ostentatious fashion to match the music, with my red velvet tails from Antons Melbourne and Anomalous hem red skirt from Romwe that fit perfectly with the lines of the jacket and I matched the outfit with Love+ and Asylum red eye shadows from Sugarpill.

If you don't know, Yngwie Malmsteen is a solo guitarist with a classical music style played with a rock flavour, with inspiration from Bach and a flair for amazing flashy fast melodic playing. If you are curious you can read his bio here. Other clinics with guitarists brought out by Thump music can be found here. And there's some pictures below if you want to see the simple little setup.

If you love shimmery red pigments and matte shadows, check out Sugarpill here, along with many other gorgeous colours!

Enjoy!

Neon Pink Alien Snow Bunny

I went to the awesome Steve Vai gig the other week and thought that I should dress up for the occasion. Steve Vai's solo guitar and instrumental music is whacky, outrageous, seductive and sensual and his album covers have many different styles some of which are alienesque. So I thought I'd bring out my Neon Pink Cyberdog space dress and then build a quick makeup look from there.

I was in a rush and didn't have much time, so I went straight for my Sugarpill SweetHeart palette and smoked out my eyes with Dollipop over a base of MAC's Paint stick in Processed Magenta. I used Sugarpill Tako to blend out the lid and for a brow highlight I added a shiny white Inglot eyeshadow in AMC shine #35. I took the fabulous Dollipop all around the eye and used Inglot matte gel for a white waterline to make my eyes huge and damn does that eyeliner last all night! The lips had to be Coloured Raine Intimidate cause it matched everything else so well.

I even whipped out my hot pink Converse Hi tops and added some fluffy earmuffs as well as some white leggings (cause damn that dress is short) and my Karen Millen turtle neck (cause it was really cold) to my all white and pink whacky outfit.

I was going for a weird alien look and with all the warm layers and earmuffs, I decided to add Snow Bunny to the title as if this alien species was used to a much warmer climate but just came in for the impressive stylings of Steve Vai and friends.

If you liked the magnificent pink eyeshadow I used for this pink smoky eye you can check out Sugarpill here, along with many other phenomenal bright and colourful eye shadows!

Feel Free to click on the pictures for higher quality and better colour.

Enjoy!
