Egyptian Pharaoh Lip Art ft Sugarpill & Born Pretty Store

Here's this Egyptian Pharaoh inspired lip art. I took elements of the strong contrasting colours of gold and blue seen a lot of ancient Egyptian art and tried to create the striped look of the nemes headdress or head cloth worn by the pharaohs that symbolises their power. I also wanted to incorporate the strong black eyeliner featured in the makeup, so I added the black outline and upturned corners of the mouth. I love how these lips are bright in colour and excitingly shimmery, but still dark and mysterious.

I really love ancient Egyptian imagery and I haven't dipped into that inspiration for a long time. The Bast makeup look that It’sBlackFriday uploaded a couple of weeks ago made me remember awesome look of the ancient Egyptian style and I was enticed to create this lip art.

I used to do tons of asymmetric eye looks with the eye of Ra and other god’s symbols and I'll have to bring that back into my make up entourage, and maybe make an eye tutorial.

Enjoy!
