GRWM Courtney Love Gig "Grunge Slick Eye" Makeup & OOTD ft Makeup Geek & Sugarpill

Here's my get ready with me makeup tutorial for the Courtney Love gig, which I thoroughly enjoyed recently. I have the outfit included in the video, plus some experimentation with a glossy lid and masses of mascara for the eyes.

And if you're wondering what the gloss does on the lids and how it lasts, the photos below shot the makeup a couple of hours after I applied it and you can see the grungy effect after it has time to settle and look nice and lived in. Ya know, "when I wake up in my makeup" style.

Dude looks like a Lady: Aerosmith gig Makeup & OOTD ft Sugarpill, Eye Kandy & Lime Crime

This is an old look but it's from when I went to the Aerosmith gig. I was going for a black and red look because of their album covers and colours in general, but ended up with this very gothic look especially when I put the outfit on. ;) I just had to wear my tiny top hat and Tripp skirt and that really spun it towards a gothic style.

I wanted a black smokey eye blended out into red and I used Sugarpill's Bulletproof and Love+ with a touch of Flamepoint on the inner edges and I added some Eye Kandy Cherry bomb glitter on top and the lips are both the red Lime Crime Velvetines in a gradient.

I will say that I was delightfully surprised when I came out of the dressing room and my boyfriend simply said "WOW". And I think a look has done it's job when it impresses people that see us everyday.

If you are in need of pigmented awesome mattes or hot, hot neon pigments, check out Sugarpill here, along with many other gorgeous shadows & lashes!

Enjoy!

Sometimes a makeup look doesn't end up the way we would like it but it's still gets to an awesome place. I really liked the look and might do a tutorial on it and take some better pictures, since I was rushed and they didn't come out too great.

Classic Michty! My Go-to Smoky Eye Makeup Tutorial ft Sugarpill & Inglot

This is my go-to eye look since way back and I thought I would do a tutorial showing you the ins and outs of Classic Michty, while going through helpful hints and steps that work for any smoky eye in any style.

I either use one of two creamy black bases for this eye, Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Perversion or Inglot matte gel eyeliner in #77. This time I went for the gel eyeliner and showed how you can use the same product for your lid, waterlines and lower lashline and go through a good few techniques of blending and smudging cream and powder products.

The black eyeshadow I always use is Sugarpill Bulletproof and I swear and die by this blackest of blacks with a smooth formula that lets you blend to your hearts content. And as with any eyeshadow look I suggest a transition shade and layering to help your smoky eye look perfectly blended and airbrushed.

If you love an opaque, deep dark black as much as I do, check out Bulletproof, the blackest black ever, from Sugarpill here, along with many other gorgeous bright shadows!

Stay posted for the Stones n' Spikes Lip Art that I'm wearing in this video....

And here's a version of this eye I did with sparse red glitter on top. And the link to that full post is here.

Birthday OOTD & Makeup!

Yay, It was my birthday this month! I went out to a special dinner with my lover boy and got all fancied up in my beloved old signature style; a red lip and a black smoky eye with an added glittery twist.

For the eyes, I chose my most adored black eyeshadow, Bulletproof from Sugarpill and layered it over a base of my new Inglot gel eyeliner #77, which is so creamy and great to blend.

I went for a sharp, angled shape and blended the black up into a peachy shade from Inglot along with M.A.C's blush in Cantaloupe to match my cheek colour. The finishing touch for the eyes was the sparsely applied red glitter, Candy Apple from Eye Kandy, to add a festive glint and complement my new red leopard print Jessica Louise dress.

Finally, there would be no Michty Maxx signature look without a matte red lip. So I used the amazing Lime Crime Velvetines and blended Suedeberry over MUFE 8C lip liner in the centre with Red Velvet and M.A.C Nightmoth lip liner around the edge to create a sexy gradient pout. The best thing is, even after a whole meal and drinks I my lipstick stayed perfect and I didn't have to touch up once all night!

If you love an opaque, deep dark black as much as I do, check out Bulletproof, the blackest black ever, from Sugarpill here, along with many other gorgeous bright shadows!

Enjoy!

4th of July Makeup

My 4th of July makeup complete with twinkling silver stars from The Born Pretty Store

I went for a red, white and blue makeup to go to an ironic party that me and my close friends have, I say ironic because we aren't American or in America. For dinner we had tacos and the table decorations were red and blue napkins on a white table cloth and we drunk delicious Mojitos because they were Castro's favoutie drink to add more irony.

For the makeup, I pulled out the juicy Royal Sugar pigment from Sugarpill as a blisteringly bright blue eyeliner that made my camera go crazy! The lid is Sugarpill Tiara and Eye Kandy sprinkles in Confetti and I applied Tako to the brow bone and Velocity for the crease and lower lid. To complete the colour theme I chose Lime Crime Retrofuturist lipstick

I felt the look wasn't complete or festive enough, so I retrieved my Duo lash glue and proceeded to stick these fun aluminium stars I bought in an assorted set from Born Pretty Store to my cheek bone and also added some smaller sequin stars I got from dollarnailart.com around them.

I ended up with a very star spangled makeup that could work for a colourful pin-up look or nautical style, even with the stars!

If you love the look of these stars for manicures or makeup, check out Born Pretty Store and don't forget to use the coupon code MIHW10 at checkout for 10% off anything you order.

And if you'd love the amazing pigments and eyeshadows I used in this patriotic look, check out Sugarpill.com for yourself.

Enjoy!

Amped-up Spring 2013 Trend look

This is based on the MAC spring trend ideas brought to us by pixiwoo. I thought I'd do a slightly more dramatic version and add purple, as I like to do, but keep with the general theme of a touch of blue and natural highlighted skin.
